| D&RGW C-16 2-8-0 in On30 Scale... There
were 82 D&RGW C-16’s built in the late 1800’s by Baldwin and
Grant, and 3 of them are still in existence. The C-16’s went through
various rebuilding programs during their service life, but all had
15”x20” cylinders and 36” diameter drivers. Some were sold
or leased to other companies, which makes them quite a universal little
locomotive.
The D&RGW C-16 was a basic narrow gauge Baldwin 2-8-0, and as such other roads had similar locomotives, including the Pennsylvania RR as the CM&StP, so we will offer those paint schemes as well. BLI’s models will feature 2 versions in various painting schemes: D&RGW #268 with round domes and #278 with fluted domes. We will also letter some models for other owners, such as the Rio Grande Southern, New Mexico Lumber Co., Nevada County Narrow Gauge RR and Montezuma Lumber Co. The D&RGW #268 will also be available painted in the standard black freight colors as well as the “Bumble Bee” scheme, which was used for the 1949 Chicago Railroad Fair. Mechanical features include: Powerful 5-pole can motor with flywheel Die-cast locomotive chassis Die-cast tender chassis Detailed tender underbody Plated bell & whistle Many exceptional prototypical added-on details like piping and appliances Prototypical cab interior, including backhead, etc. Operating headlight Authentic paint scheme and correct locomotive numbers Magnetic knuckle coupler on tender. Will operate on Code 70, 83 and 100 rail Can be operated on minimum 18" radius curves. The On30 trains operate on HO gauge track or track made specifically for On30 such as PECO or MICRO ENG. |
